Our annual seminar will focus on key updates on our lobbying activities at the House of Commons, and news from two fascinating research areas:

Katrina Burchell, CEO The Pernicious Anaemia Society – Update on PAS and the B-12Alliance Reception.

Kourosh Ahmadi, Professor of Precision Nutrition, Surrey University – The use of precision medicine tools & principles to improve PA management

Kourosh is a board member of CluB-12 and a long term supporter of PAS, previously supervising the PhD of Dr Alfie Thain, and now working closely again with PAS on new studies and projects. Internationally he is a leading advocate and researcher in Precision Public Health, driving key advancements at the intersection of genomics, nutrition, and social science.

Rachel Barnes, Qualified Advance Nurse Practitioner, Post Graduate Researcher, The Quadram Institute, Norwich – The size of the B12 problem – using CPRD statistical data.

Rachel, who was part of our research team station at Westminster, will talk about how as part of her research she is using the Clinical Practice Research Datalink of statistical data. This involves collecting and analysing anonymised patient data from a network of GP practices across the UK. This data is linked to a range of secondary care and other health datasets to provide a longitudinal, representative UK population dataset and helps inform public health research and informs clinical practice.
