Live in England and Managing Multiple Prescriptions? Save Money with an NHS PPC

If you live in England and pay for your NHS prescriptions, managing Pernicious Anaemia (PA) alongside other conditions can quickly become expensive. A Prescription Prepayment Certificate (PPC) acts like a “season ticket,” capping your costs no matter how many items you need.
With the standard prescription charge frozen at £9.90 per item, you can save money by choosing one of two upfront options:

  • 3-Month PPC (£32.05): Saves you money if you need 4 or more items in three months.
  • 12-Month PPC (£114.50): Saves you money if you need 12 or more items a year (payment can be spread across 10 monthly instalments).

If you regularly collect two or more prescription items each month, a PPC will significantly lower your medical expenses. Before buying, remember to check if you are already exempt from health costs due to age, income, or a qualifying medical condition.

The Wren Project

We are pleased to confirm our relationship with The Wren Project. The Wren Project exists to bridge the gap between a life-changing autoimmune disease diagnosis and access to mental health support. Founded by people living with autoimmune diseases, The Wren Project understands the huge impact a diagnosis has on your mental and emotional health. Many of our Wrens, people we support, have experienced a long wait for a diagnosis. The impact of living with unexplained and worsening symptoms, to receiving a diagnosis and then managing medications and appointments, is life-changing. We believe that by harnessing the power of deep listening, we can reduce feelings of grief, loneliness and helplessness. We create spaces where our Wrens feel heard and validated in their experience. Here, you can talk openly about how you are feeling, without the time constraints of a medical appointment and to your trusted volunteer. Click here to contact The Wren Project for support.
