We currently have 4 research projects under consideration for funding. These include:

  • Research into the efficacy of current treatment regiemes,
  • Alternative methods for monitoring patients other than serum B12 levels,
  • An investigation into what happens to B12 at cell level,
  • and Better diagnosis and treatment of infant and juvenille Pernicious Anaemia.
The society is currently participating in a research project into the genetics of PA being conducted at Manchester University. Over 50% of our members have blue eyes!

Very little research has been conducted into Pernicious Anaemia and the effects of B12 deficiency since the early 1950
